Introducing Auth+ 2.0: A Smarter, Faster Way to Protect Your Brand

Auth+ 2.0 on a keyboard

As digital communication grows, so does the risk of brand impersonation and consumer-targeted fraud including smishing, spoofing, and disinformation. To combat these threats, the Campaign Registry introduced Auth+, a new verification layer designed to safeguard brands and the messaging ecosystems.

What is Auth+?

Auth+ helps prevent fraud by requiring Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) via email to confirm the identity of brand representatives. The goal is simple: ensure that the people behind the brand are who they say they are, and that their campaigns can be trusted.

Auth+ 1.0: A Strong Start

The original version of Auth+ combined basic identity checks and Auth+ verification into a single step. While this streamlined the process, it also came with some drawbacks:

  • Less flexibility when dealing with verification failures
  • Because the process was bundled with initial brand identity vetting, full brand resubmissions were needed resulting in increased costs and delays.

Auth+ 2.0: Smarter Separation, Greater Control

Our latest version of Auth+ 2.0, introduces a crucial improvement:
Auth+ verification is now separate from the basic identity check.

Here’s how the new process works:

  1. An identity check is triggered when a PUBLIC_PROFIT brand registers.
  2. Once the brand’s identity reaches VERIFIED or VETTED_VERIFIED, CSPs can initiate the Auth+ vetting process separately.

Key Benefits of Auth+ 2.0

  • Independent appeals: If either the identity check or Auth+ fails, appeals/resubmissions can be entered separately, reducing bottlenecks.
  • Parallel vetting: Standard or Enhanced brand vetting can proceed while Auth+ is still pending, helping avoid unnecessary delays.
  • Real-time visibility: New webhook events give stakeholders better transparency and insight into the current Auth+ status.

Auth+ 2.0 is a significant upgrade for both brands and Campaign Service Providers (CSPs). By improving efficiency, adding flexibility, and offering more visibility, it strengthens the overall trust and safety of the messaging ecosystem.

Whether you’re a CSP managing brand registrations or a business looking to secure your messaging, this update makes compliance smoother, and safer than ever before.
